The whole world has been impacted by the coronavirus. Consequently we have taken steps to comply with government and health authorities to minimise the spread of this pandemic. Our Sunday School and Memorial Meeting are now at the Hall as well as online via Zoom. If you would like to know more about how we are adapting, to the impacts of coronavirus and the changing health regulations, then please click on the image on the left and then select "Ecclesial Activity during COVID-19" and then click on "Sutherland".
Our purpose is to bring awareness of the true hope of God and the full gospel of Christ to our community. We do this because we believe it is a correct application of the commandment of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20 We teach it to show our gratitude to God who has had others teach us the truth and the wisdom of the Scriptures. We preach it in love so that others will repent, believe in the Kingdom of God, be baptised into Christ, and so become heirs of the promises of God. Mark 1:14-15, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 22:16, Galatians 3:26-29.
Some of the objectives that we are setting for ourselves:
Teaching God's truth according to Scripture. For there is only one hope and one gospel. Ephesians 4:4, Galatians 1:7 Therefore it is vital that people hear the real Christian hope. It is important to us that we preach the full gospel of the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 8:12
Providing relevant teaching material and tools. We therefore plan to provide online resources such as Bible study courses, booklets on fundamental topics as well as supply educational DVDs on key Bible subjects, praise music and Bible-study aids. We also plan to conduct group Bible classes, personal classes, public seminars, Youth Group activities and special worship sessions.
Helping the community in practical ways. We often volunteer for things such as "faith in action" projects, coaching/supporting youth activities and more.
All of these are meant to encourage all people to search out God and His precious word of truth. We want to provide help for everyone to read and learn from the Bible. It is our desire to share how God's word can become the basis of living a fulfilling life.
We are a lay community patterned after first century Christianity. Members of each congregation are addressed as “Brother” and “Sister” and all have an equal and joint responsibility for the welfare of the church. A strong common belief binds us together as a family. Matthew 23:8-12; Romans 12:4-6; Romans 16:1; 1 Corinthians 12:4-27; Galatians 3:28
